Lidded Abalone and Brass Crab
We offer a brass and copper crab inlaid with abalone crafted in the style of the Mexican metal crafter and artist Salvador Teran.
The crab originated in Mexico during the 1960s and is unsigned. The lid is marked with a Roman numeral V and the body is marked with III. The crab measures 12 3/4" by 7 1/8" with an overall height of 4".
As seen in the photographs, there is a 1/4" loss of shell by one point of the lid. The lid is slightly bowed and cannot fit flush to the body.
