Vintage Maria Castillo Figural Monkey Water Pitcher

Description

This whimsical mid 20th century hand crafted silver plated copper water pitcher is designed with an applied sculpted figural handle. The handle is that of a wonderful monkey, hands holding the top of the hand hammered pitcher, legs & feet around the body &, finally, a long tail along the surface, ending in a curl! There is some minimal loss of plating here & there but without harm to the integrity of this signed work of art. The base is stamped "Emilia Castillo, Mexico, Plateado & numbered TO-85". Emilia Castillo is a well known artisan from Taxco, Mexico.
